Various Headcanon
Mostly so I can keep this all in one place
• Originally from Tsugaru, Aomori and attended the high school there
• (More self-indulgent version: Sumaru City native, used to attend Seven Sisters)
• He doesn't really miss attending his previous school; there were only a couple of people he liked there anyway, and one of them was a teacher. He didn't really have many friends and... well, they weren't very good ones, honestly, considering how they put distance between themselves and Akira after the incident.
• The teacher, in fact, is a cousin of his (first cousin once removed--Akira's mother and the teacher's mother are cousins) although Akira just refers to the guy as his uncle.
• Previous headcanon, super-self-indulgent edition: Jun Kashihara is the teacher in question.
• Looks up to this cousin a lot and considers this cousin more of a parent than his actual parents.
• His parents do not get along and frankly really should have divorced by now. Unfortunately, his mother won't do it for financial reasons, and his father didn't want to inflict the fallout of a divorce on his kid. Akira's father works a lot for the sake of avoiding his wife. Akira and his mother already argued frequently; it got worse after his arrest.
• Akira was a bit of a bully hunter up until it started to taper off in his late years of middle school. He didn't have any friends at all at this point--his willingness to pick a fight ran people off.
• Floriography nerd, absolutely adores plants and flowers in general, was so hype about the flower shop job.
• Avid reader, any of the space in his bags that wasn't taken up by necessities was probably filled with as much of his personal library as he could manage to fit in there (which... wasn't much, but he tried)
• While he's an all-around decent student, his strongest subject is Japanese and his weakest is math.
• Has a surprisingly high grade in English, interested in learning other languages in general. Knows just enough French to get him by if he ever went to France on vacation... and he knows a handful of swears. He's been striving to learn more. (His accent is atrocious, but improving)
• Didn't really care for coffee until he started living in the Leblanc attic, gradually acquired a taste for it though
• (He was definitely one of those people who liked the scent of coffee, but not the taste)
• It's still not his first choice but at least he'll actually drink it now and not turn his nose up at it
• He actually liked tea more before, now if he's offered a choice between coffee or tea, he'll take whichever one's higher quality.
• The glasses are purely for show; this is canon. However, he's slightly nearsighted, but not badly enough that it needs correction (yet). (Contact lenses are a no-go because fingers around his eyes? No.)
• (He can totally do the Scary Shiny Glasses thing at will)
• Stress-cooks. The results typically get shoved off onto friends. Also just regularly cooks as a hobby, when he can.
• Sews. Originally learned it to mend his own clothing so he didn't have to ask his mother.
• Did gymnastics when he was younger. Has an interest in free-running.
